Optional Bosses can be found on the world map and inside the many fields and dungeons that you can find scattered across 
The Continent. If you enter into an encounter with an enemy and see a name bar at the top of the screen, you know you’re in for a tougher fight than ususal.

Should You Attack?
Grosse Tete is a particularly tough boss considering you can find him fairly early on. We would recommend waiting until you’re into Act 3, but the fight is unusual in that you don’t need to do any damage, only survive Grosse Tete’s attacks for 12 turns, at which point you will win the battle automatically.

You will often find bosses out in the world that are very powerful. There is a particular item you’ll receive at the end of Act 2 that will help your damage output significantly.
